Merchant Residual Portfolio Sales: Getting the Best Multiples

As an agent selling merchant services you know how hard it is to build a solid portfolio. The payoff, of course, is a strong monthly residual stream for as long as the merchants you sign continue processing transactions through your ISO or processor.

But there’s another, equally important payoff: selling your merchant residuals. There are companies today paying 8- to 15-times monthly residual streams for well-performing portfolios. These upfront payments carry little risk and can be put to good uses, such as staffing so you can build up a new merchant residual portfolio.

Getting the best multiples for your merchant residual portfolio isn’t a science, but it does require some planning, and an understanding of factors that will attract the best buyout offers. That’s why I’ve put together a Guide to Selling Merchant Residual Portfolios. It draws on my own experiences selling 7 different merchant residual portfolios to help agents in the field attract the best offers when selling parts or all of their merchant residual portfolios.

Whether you’re ready to sell today, or just wondering with an eye toward selling in the future, Guide to Selling Merchant Residual Portfolios, can help you prepare. If you haven’t ordered your copy of Guide to Selling Merchant Residual Portfolios now is the time to act.
