Written by James Shepherd | Feb 18, 2015 8:00:00 AM

This video is part six in the “Introduction to Credit Card Processing” series. In this video James discusses 3 basic things to get yourself set up for success in selling merchant services. Below is an outline of what James mentions in the video. Watch the video to find out more.

1. You have to find a credit card processor you are going to sell for. (Compare several different processors before you make a decision. Download the free ebook 5 Commission Traps that was created to help agents like you starting out to not get “caught” in traps of this industry. You can click on the link below the video below to download)
2. You have to fill out paperwork.
3. Figure out how you are going to do prospecting.
Here are three prospecting methods. A. Walk into businesses B. Telemarketing C. Inbound marketing (Following up on leads generated online.) D. An existing portfolio (It is recommended to sell brand new prospects first, make mistakes with them, that way you will “have your ducks in a row” when you try to sell your existing contacts.)
Be sure to continue in this series and watch the next video on your presentation and some practical tips you can apply to make more sales!
